About The Friendly Caterer
The Friendly Caterer (TFC) is owned and operated by Herbert and Sandra Sims. Located in Hopkins, SC, inside a 2600 square foot full-service catering kitchen, with administrative offices in Blythewood, SC. Staffed with 30 full-time employees, TFC has provided catering services for nearly 28 years to Columbia, the Southeast and surrounding areas.
The Friendly Caterer is more than just another food service business, it is a way of life. Herbert Sims, The Friendly Caterer Owner, and Head Chef, along with his wife and partner Sandra Sims have a love for good Southern Food. Herbert Sims love of good southern food started when he was just a young boy in his mother’s kitchen. He parlayed that love into a business that has grown from a one-man catering company to a thriving business known for signature items like Southern Fried Chicken, 16-hour Slow Cooked Chopped BBQ, Shrimp and Grits and Peach Cobbler, along with many other dishes.
The Friendly Caterer has served at events such as The George Rogers Foundation Golf Tournament, USC Athletic Reunion, The Atlanta Jazz Festival, Midlands Technical College, Richland School District One and Two, A'ja Wilson Foundation and various VIP events at the Township and the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center. In addition to these events, we are also the caterer of choice for many other Columbia businesses who look for quality service, a variety of menu items and someone who goes the extra mile to ensure that their expectations are exceeded.
